Eyelid Surgery: Pain
You will feel some pinches of pain as the local anesthetic is injected. Once the areas around your eyes are numbed, you should feel nothing.

After surgery, most patients report a mild to moderate burning sensation around the eyes. You will probably need pain medication the evening after surgery and perhaps the next day. After that, you may need acetaminophen or nothing at all. Placing ice packs on your eyes relieves pain and discomfort and reduces swelling in the first 24 hours following surgery.
