Insurance companies tend to regard the tummy tuck as a cosmetic procedure and usually do not provide reimbursement. However, your health plan may cover the operation if your abdominal muscles are overstretched to the point of causing chronic back pain, posture problems, abdominal discomfort, or other symptoms that affect your ability to function.
