| Facial Implants: Recovery |
How will I feel? How will I look? How long before I can resume my normal daily activities?
You will have some discomfort, black and blue marks, and swelling for a few days after your implant procedure, and your activities and diet will be restricted. Moving your mouth-talking, smiling, and eating-will be limited. Your plastic surgeon will instruct you about dental and oral hygiene during your recovery. Stitches used to close the incisions inside your mouth usually dissolve within ten days.
You can plan to return to work in approximately one week; a normal appearance can be expected in two to four weeks. Don't do any activity that could jar or bump your face for six weeks or more.
