Nasal Surgery (Rhinoplasty):
Preparing for Surgery
Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure, performed at a doctor's facility or the hospital. Plan to have someone drive you home afterward and stay with you for 24 hours, to be safe.

Some medications should be avoided at least a few weeks before surgery because they can cause problems with bleeding or recovery.

Avoid:
  • Aspirin or ibuprofen or drugs containing aspirin or ibuprofen.
  • Vitamin E.

Before Planning Surgery, Tell the Doctor About:
  • Any prescribed medications you take AND non-prescription medications, including herbal remedies.
  • Any medical problems you have.
  • Previous surgeries on any part of your body.
